Hi all.  My wife & I will be in Atsugi 3-7 June, then we have to head back to Iwakuni. We'd be interested in driving rather than riding the train.

If you need to get a car south either to Iwakuni or Sasebo, maybe this would work out for both of us. If you can cover road tolls and some expenses we'll bring your car. I won't charge any fee beyond the actual expenses.  Our departure date is flexible, like 8/9/10 June and we'd take 2-3 days on the drive.  Thanks!

Maybe I am missing something, but wouldn't it make more sense for you to offer to pay a car rental fee? Anyone who has orders to PCS will get their car shipped over there and delivered right to the base, for free.

1) There are no one-way rentals, unless maybe from a Japanese company which would be crazy expensive with tolls, rental fee, gas, etc.

2) There have been people in the past looking to get a car from base to base.  You can have one car shipped on your orders, but some families have more.

I was just hoping to get lucky & connect with such a family. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work & I'll take the Shin.  But if I don't ask, I'm guaranteed to not find such an arrangement. No harm in making the effort, right?

I hadn't thought about a 2 car family, which is sort of funny since we are a 2 car family ourselves.
