Hey!  Was just seeing if there is anyone on Camp Zama that could tell me what the wait is like right now for housing?  We are arriving in a few weeks, so was just curious if we will be spending a lot of time in the lodge before we get housing. Also, our sponsor said he could not get our PO Box until 72 hours before we get there??  Was wanting to go ahead and get my mail forwarded and such.  Thanks for any help!

I live on Zama. As long as your sponsor has orders on hand he would be able to get a mailbox for you. Not sure what is going on there. The housing issue would depend on rank, family size and pets. There is a variety of waiting for everyone. We spend 3 months in lodging when we got here.

Concur with zama - my sponsor had my box setup for me a month before I arrived. I got here on Tuesday and signed for my 4br company-grade today (Thursday), despite having deferred family travel for an anticipated 2-3 month wait. Not sure what wait times will be like for you and your family, but I highly recommend contacting housing to ensure that they know you're coming (DSN 315-263-4135). Don't rely on your sponsor to do so. I had to jump through hoops to get finance and personnel aligned with housing IOT get a house b/c they didn't "project" my arrival.

Oh wow..that's good to hear that you got housing so fast. Wonder if it will be the same for a 2 bedroom place. It will be just my husband and I. I was deferred at first but my husband fought that and we ended up getting concurrent travel orders. I'm getting excited and nervous...down to 5 days....

Do you know if housing has an email if we are unable to call?
